  9. Annotate works to two modes:
  10.  
  11. To use conventional mode, type
  12. ANNOTATE and press RETURN to start.
  13.  
  14. In conventional mode, Annotate will detect any duplicate
  15. designators, which will be reported. Duplicates will not
  16. be re-designated automatically. All other components are
  17. re-designated serially, eg U1, U2, etc.

  20. To use the auto-redesignate mode, type
  21. ANNOTATE/R and press RETURN to start.
  22.  
  23. In this mode, duplicates are reported as the sheets are
  24. scanned. The message "Re-designate duplicate components?"
  25. is displayed. Press Y to re-designate all duplicates, or
  26. N to leave them unchanged.

  29. These two options are provided because duplicated
  30. designators can represent serious design errors. We
  31. recommend that you check the reported duplications
  32. carefully before accepting the automatic re-designations.
