  1.                         INSTALLING ORCAD EDA TOOLS 
  2.  
  3. Set this floppy drive to your current drive.
  4.  
  5.   A:    (or B: as the case may be)
  6.  
  7. type INSTALL
  8.  
  9. This will install the installation program to your system and then run the
  10. installation.
  11.  
  12. You will be asked which product(s) you wish to install.  Make your selection,
  13. and follow the instructions on the screen.
  14.  
  15.                             IMPORTANT NOTES:
  16.  
  17. 1) Because this will put INSTALL onto your system, the installation program
  18. will not be included on future updates.  To install future updates, just type
  19. INSTALL from wherever you happen to be on your hard drive.
  20.  
  21. 2) This installation may update the PATH statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
  22. If so, additions will be appended to your current PATH statement. This means
  23. that if you are updating from an older version of OrCAD, and the new executable
  24. files are placed in a different directory than your old executable files, you
  25. may need to remove the path to the old executable files.
  26.  
  27. 3) This installation program adds SET statements to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
  28. If your AUTOEXEC.BAT currently exits before reaching the end of the .BAT file,
  29. or ends by invoking another batch file, the SET commands that INSTALL appends
  30. to the end of your AUTOEXEC.BAT file will not be executed.  You may need to
  31. edit AUTOEXEC.BAT after installation to re-order the execution.

  33. 4) This installation will require a certain amount of space on your hard drive.
  34. The space required is as follows:

  36.       270 K    INSTALL with no drivers or minimal (1 each type) drivers
  37.       1.5 M    INSTALL with all drivers
  38.  
  39.       4.7 M    SDT (& ESP)
  40.       1.0 M    PLD
  41.       3.0 M    MOD no templates
  42.       4.7 M    MOD all templates
  43.       550 K    VST no models
  44.       2.5 M    VST all models
  45.  
  46.      14.5 M    TOTAL
