  1. CHAIN allows you to select a series of connected lines, 
  2. splines, and/or arcs by defining the start and end 
  3. entities in the chain and the direction in which you 
  4. want the chain to be selected.
  5.  
  6. Select the start entity in a desired chain of entities.
  7.  
  8. Indicate the direction of the chain using the cursor. 
  9. When more than one direction is possible, indicate the 
  10. entity you want as the next chaining entity.
  11.  
  12. The end of the connecting entities is determined in one of
  13. three ways:
  14.  
  15. - If you select the desired end entity.
  16.  
  17. - If you press <Enter> to select all connected curve
  18. entities until a break is found in the chain.
  19.  
  20. - If a portion of the chain progresses off the screen 
  21. display, the last entity completely displayed on the 
  22. screen is designated as the end of the connecting 
  23. entities.
  24.  
  25. The chained entities are selected from the designated 
  26. start to end points.
  27.  
  28. Accept or cancel the selection by choosing from the following options: 
  29.  
  30. YES - to accept the entities selected in the chain and 
  31. begin the selection process.
  32.  
  33. NO - to cancel the selections and reselect the chain of
  34. entities.
  35.  
  36. You are returned to your place in the function.
  37.
