  1. PENS allows you to set the pen width, pen speed, and pen
  2. sorting of your plotter.

  4. Indicate the pen parameter you want by choosing from the
  5. following options:

  7. PEN WIDTH - to set the plotter pen width in millimeters.
  8. Pen width indicates the width of pen movement used in
  9. filling operations.

  11. PENSORT - to choose the method of pen sorting (ON, OFF, or
  12. OPTIMIZE). Pen sorting is an efficient way of plotting
  13. because it conserves on pen selecting time.
  14. You can choose to analyze the figure for entity color
  15. assignment (ON). When you choose ON, the system draws all
  16. entities that are the first color and then draws all
  17. entities that are the second color, and so on, until all
  18. entities are drawn. This method is more efficient than not
  19. sorting.

  21. You can turn the sorting option off (OFF). When you do not
  22. use pen sorting, the plotter draws each entity as it comes
  23. to it, selecting a new pen each time it is necessary.
  24. You can efficiently sort pens by entity, not color
  25. (OPTIMIZE). The system selects the pen color of the entity
  26. and draws all entities of that color. Then it selects the
  27. pen color of the next entity and draws all entities of 
  28. that color. This process is repeated until all entities 
  29. are drawn. This method saves the analysis time that the ON
  30. option takes to sort the pens.
