  1. GENERAL allows you to choose a set of entities (excluding
  2. points) whose projections define a closed region in the
  3. current view.
  4.  
  5. Choose a Selection Menu option to specify a set of
  6. entities. As with crosshatching, islands can be chosen
  7. that will be excluded (or included) as required.
  8.  
  9. If the selected entities do not form a closed shape, they
  10. are rejected and you are prompted to press <Enter> to
  11. continue. Choose from the Selection Menu once again and
  12. reselect the desired entities.
  13.  
  14. Enter a panel width value and press <Enter>. To assign the
  15. default width value in parentheses, press <Enter>. These
  16. rectangular shapes (referred to as panels) approximate the
  17. area used in calculating the moment of the selected shape.

  19. A smaller width value generates more panels within the
  20. shape, therefore adding more accuracy to the moment value.
  21. Locate the polar reference axis. The polar reference axis 
  22. is defined as a vector pointing out of the screen and 
  23. passing through the projection of the selected point to 
  24. the current view.

  26. The panels are created within the selected shape, and the
  27. polar moment of inertia is calculated and displayed.

  29. Press <Enter> to successively display the two components of
  30. the polar moment with respect to orthogonal axes through 
  31. the polar position. Choose the BACK-UP option to redisplay
  32. the previous value.
  33.  
  34. Press <Enter> after the last component displayed to choose 
  35. a new reference axis.
  36.  
  37. To clear temporary markers and panels from the screen,
  38. redraw screen.
