- FILES allows you to store information about your drawing
- in various types of files, each with its own specific
- purpose.
-
- Store the information by choosing from the following
- options:
-
- PART - to store the complete information about the part,
- including geometry, scale, current view, line types,
- and 2- D/3-D status. A part file is the only way to store
- all of the information about a part.
-
- PATTERN - to store a part-independent file that contains
- geometry, dimensions, notes, labels, and crosshatching.
- You can retrieve a pattern at any time and add it to the
- part that you are working on.
-
- PLOT - to plot an existing part with the off-line
- program, PLOTFAST.
-
- CADL - to access CADKEY Advanced Design Language (CADL).
- CADL is a high-level programming language designed to let
- you customize CADKEY to your individual needs or interface
- with other programs; for applications such as parametric
- modeling; to interact with CADKEY's database to generate
- construction utilities, design aids, and a bill of
- materials; or to interface with peripheral equipment.
-
- CADL programs can be executed in CADKEY, or you can output
- part data to a CADL file for use in an off-line program.
-
- MACROS - to execute frequently used or lengthy command
- sequences using a few simple keystrokes. A macro is a
- sequence of CADKEY commands (i.e., menu selections) that
- you name, record, and store in a macro library. Each macro
- library can contain the names and data for as many as 400
- different macros. Immediate Mode commands and FILES menu
- options offer simple way to create, store, and execute
- macros.
-
- Because the system allows you to store groups of macros in
- different macro libraries, the appropriate library must be
- opened before you can create or execute a specific macro.
-
- CDE - to access CADKEY Dynamic Extension mechanism. You
- can open, close, and execute CDE libraries and functions.
-
- LIST FMT (List Format) - to control the display format of
- the filename listings.
-
- DB DRAW (Data Base Draw) - to controls the order of the
- entities that are redrawn in the database when storing or
- retrieving a file.
