- ROTATE allows you to rotate geometry about a specified
- axis by a given number of degrees.
-
- A positive rotation angle rotates the selected entities
- counter-clockwise from the point of view of someone at
- whom the rotational axis is pointing. An axis defined by
- two positions is considered to be pointing from the first
- position to the second. An axis defined by one position is
- considered to be pointing towards the viewer and is normal
- to the construction plane.
-
- Indicate the method of transformation by choosing from the
- following options:
-
- MOVE - to apply the transformation directly to the
- selected entities. All non-geometric data relating
- to the entities is preserved.
-
- COPY - to apply the transformation to copies of the
- selected entities. Copies are created on the active level
- and retain the attributes of the original geometry. All
- non-geometric data relating to the entities is preserved.
- You can create as many copies as you want in one
- operation. The transformation for a given copy is
- applied to the results of the previous copy.
-
- JOIN - to apply the transformation to copies of the
- selected entities and create lines from join positions on
- the original entities to corresponding positions on the
- copies. The new joining entities are lines that assume
- all the current default line attributes. Coincident
- positions generate only one joining entity.
-
- Joined copies are created on the active level; all
- non-geometric data relating to the entities is preserved;
- you can create as many copies as you want in one
- operation; the transformation for a given copy is applied
- to the results of the previous copy.
-
- If you are using the JOIN option, indicate the type of
- joining by choosing to use lines as the joining entities
- (LINES) or to use arcs as the joining entities (ARCS).
-
- Select the entities to rotate, using a Selection Menu
- option.
-
- If you are using COPY or JOIN, enter the desired number of
- copies and press <Enter>.
-
- Indicate a position on the rotational axis, using a
- Position Menu option.
-
- Either indicate another position on the rotational axis,
- or press <Enter> to have the axis normal to the
- construction plane.
-
- Enter the rotation angle in degrees.
