- X-FORM allows you to move, copy, or join entities after
- transforming their geometric data. The transformation is
- in the form of a function from 3-D space to 3-D space.
- When the transformation changes an entity's shape, the
- entity type can also change. For example, an arc scaled
- in only one direction may become an ellipse.
-
- Transform entities by choosing from the following options:
-
- DELTA - to translate or shift entities from one location
- to another by a specified vector.
-
- OLD-NEW - to translate and rotate geometry by choosing a
- method of transformation and indicating the position and
- orientation of the transformed geometry relative to that
- of the original geometry.
-
- ROTATE - to rotate geometry about a specified axis by a
- given number of degrees.
-
- SCALE - to increase or decrease the size of selected
- entities by changing the entity data.
-
- MIRROR - to reflect geometry across a plane.
-
- PROJECT - to project geometry onto a specified plane along
- a specified vector.
-
- HEL-ROT - to rotate geometry about a specified axis by a
- given number of degrees and then translate it parallel to
- the axis, by a specific length.
-
- C-ARRAY - to rotate geometry about a given axis by a given
- number of degrees while keeping a constant orientation
- with respect to the coordinate axes.
-
- Indicate the method of transformation by choosing from the
- following options:
-
- MOVE - to apply the transformation directly to the
- selected entities. All non-geometric data relating to the
- entities is preserved.
-
- COPY - to apply the transformation to copies of the
- selected entities. Copies are created on the active level
- and retain the attributes of the original geometry. All
- non-geometric data relating to the entities is preserved.
- You can create as many copies as you want in one
- operation. The transformation for a given copy is applied
- to the results of the previous copy.
-
- JOIN - to apply the transformation to copies of the
- selected entities and create lines from join positions on
- the original entities to corresponding positions on the
- copies. The new joining entities are lines that assume
- all the current default line attributes. Coincident
- positions generate only one joining entity.
-
- Joined copies are created on the active level; all
- non-geometric data relating to the entities is preserved;
- you can create as many copies as you want in one
- operation; the transformation for a given copy is applied
- to the results of the previous copy.
