  1. ACTIVE lets you change the active instance in a layout.
  2. You know an instance is active when CADKEY surrounds it
  3. with a dashed highlighted box. Only one instance can be
  4. active at a time. 
  5.  
  6. If you want to change something in an instance that is not
  7. active, you must first make it active.
  8.  
  9. To change the active instance CADKEY prompts you to choose
  10. the drawing instance you want to make active. Cursor 
  11. select an instance. CADKEY highlights the new active
  12. instance by surrounding it with a dashed highlighted box.

  14. To turn the active instance off CADKEY prompts you to 
  15. choose the drawing instance you want to make active. 
  16. Cursor select in an empty area of the screen, away from 
  17. any drawing instances. CADKEY turns off any active
  18. instance; none of the instances are surrounded by a
  19. highlighted box.
