- The DETAIL (Drafting) allows you to add notes, labels,
- dimensions, and crosshatching to a geometric drawing. You
- have full control over setting or changing parameters and
- values for new or existing dimensions. All dimension
- entities you create are primarily related to display and
- only appear in their view of creation.
-
- Add to your drawing by choosing from the following options:
-
- DIMENSN - to:
-
- * dimension angles and the diameter or radius of an arc or
- circle.
-
- * assign horizontal, vertical, or parallel dimensions.
-
- * create and edit ordinate dimensions.
-
- NOTE - to create a note from an ASCII file on disk or
- keyboard entry, and output to a disk-based ASCII text file.
-
- LABEL - to create a label (with leaders and arrows) for a
- part or parts of your drawing.
-
- ARR/WIT (arrows or witness lines) - to create arrows and
- witness lines.
-
- X-HATCH (crosshatching) - to fill a specified, closed-in
- area with selected line patterns.
-
- LAYOUT - CADKEY's Drawing Layout Mode is the CADKEY system
- mode that you enter when you finish creating a part in
- Model Mode and want to detail and position different
- views, or drawing instances, of the part in a two-
- dimensional layout format.
-
- CHANGE - to change:
-
- * dimension arrows.
-
- * dimension representations.
-
- * dimension value by a scale factor.
-
- * displayed dimension values, dimension text, and
- tolerance value and/or type.
-
- * text attributes and text position.
-
- * dimension witness line.
-
- UPDATE- to change certain attributes of dimension entities
- to the new user-set values. This option affects height,
- font, slant, and fill of note and label.
-
- For dimension entities the following attributes are
- affected: height, font, value representation, dimension
- scale, trailing and leading zeros, tolerance mode and
- values.
-
- SET - to:
-
- * specify the orientation and style of dimension arrows.
-
- * control whether the program automatically updates the
- displayed values of dimensions selected for some command
- sequences.
-
- * set the existing linear, radial, diametrical, and
- ordinate dimension representations.
-
- * control the display of leading and/or trailing zeros,
- to position parallel dimension text for ANSI or ISO, and
- to toggle between automatic and manual creation of
- dimension text; and control the text attributes for
- notes.
-
- * specify the automatic tolerancing of a dimension; and
- specify scaling units other than those used in the
- construction of the part itself.
-
- * suppress the NO/YES verification menu displayed after
- each dimension or label is placed.
-
- * control the display of witness lines and leader lines
- for newly-created dimensions.
