  1. DIVIDE allows you to trim or extend an entity (excluding
  2. circle) into two separate entities by selecting the 
  3. portion of the entity that you want to remove. This 
  4. function is view dependent.
  5.  
  6. If desired, you can pick the same entity twice.
  7.  
  8. Select an entity on the side that will be removed when the
  9. entity is divided.
  10.  
  11. Select the first trimming entity, near the intersection 
  12. with the entity that is to be divided. Remember that at
  13. least one of the selected trimming entities must intersect
  14. the entity that is to be divided.

  16. Select the second trimming entity, near the intersection
  17. with the entity that is to be divided.
  18.  
  19. The 2-D intersection is computed, and if an intersection
  20. exists, the desired entity is divided so that the portion
  21. between the intersections of the two trimming entities is
  22. removed, and two separate entities are created.

  24. If the trimming or extending is not correct, press 
  25. (Alt)-(I), or click on Undo in the break area to erase 
  26. the trim or extension.
