- 2D AUTO allows you to automatically create a 2D spline
- through a path of minimum distance point entities that
- have been projected to the current construction plane.
-
- The first position/point, second position/point, and
- optional end position/point of an automatic spline define
- its start and endpoints, and act as a direction guide
- for creation.
-
- Change to the desired construction view and depth, and
- indicate the start position of the spline. Note that the
- Position Menu automatically defaults to the point entity
- method, although you are not restricted to this option.
-
- Choose the second point entity to define the direction and
- start of the spline, using an option from the Position
- Menu.
-
- Choose the final point through which the spline will pass,
- using this menu. If you press <Enter>, the endpoint of the
- spline will end at the 76th point entity passed through,
- or until no more points are found on the screen.
-
- All the point entities on the screen are sorted and
- projected to the current construction plane.
-
- Define the spline's start and end conditions by choosing
- from the following options:
-
- NATURAL - to automatically assign a curvature of zero to
- the appropriate end of the spline.
-
- 2 PTS - to specify a tangent vector at a spline endpoint
- by indicating two points (positions).
-
- ENDENT - to specify a tangent vector by using the tangency
- at the end of an existing curve entity.
-
- TANGENT - to enter the x and y vector components
- (determining the slope y/x) and magnitude of the desired
- tangent vector.
-
- ANGLE - to determine the direction of a tangent vector by
- setting the angle between the tangent vector and the
- positive x axis.
-
-
- Regardless of the 2D/3D construction-switch setting, the
- indicated points are projected to the current construction
- plane, and the spline is created in the current
- construction plane.
