  1. LINE allows you to define the directrix with an existing
  2. line.

  4. Select an existing line to be used as the directrix.
  5.  
  6. After defining the directrix, indicate a focal point for 
  7. the parabola, using a Position Menu option.
  8.  
  9. Indicate the start point for the parabola, using a 
  10. Position Menu option. If the indicated point is not on
  11. the parabola, the program determines the start point by
  12. constructing a line that is perpendicular to the parabola
  13. and passes through the indicated point. The intersection
  14. of the parabola and the perpendicular line is used as the
  15. start point.

  17. Indicate the endpoint for the parabola, using a Position
  18. Menu option. If the indicated point is not on the 
  19. parabola, the program determines the endpoint in the
  20. manner that was described for the start point.

  22. If the parabola cannot be created, an error message is
  23. displayed. You are prompted to press <Enter> and to 
  24. redefine the parabola, beginning with the directrix.
  25.  
  26. In 2-D construction mode, the directrix, the focal point,
  27. and the start and endpoints are projected to the current
  28. construction plane. The parabola is created in the current
  29. construction view, at the current depth.

  31. In 3-D construction mode, the parabola is created in the
  32. plane that is defined by the directrix and the focus.
