  1. TAN/PRP (tangent/perpendicular) allows you to create a 
  2. line tangent and/or perpendicular to two entities, or 
  3. to an entity and a position.
  4.  
  5. It is possible to create the entity by choosing from
  6. the following options:

  9. TAN PT - to create a line tangent to a selected entity, 
  10. and through a specified reference point.
  11.  
  12. PRP PT - to create a line perpendicular to a selected
  13. entity, and through a specified point.
  14.  
  15. TAN TAN - to create a line tangent to two selected 
  16. entities. One of the entities can be a point; however, an
  17. error message is displayed if you select two points.

  19. TAN PRP - to create a line tangent to the first selected
  20. entity, and perpendicular to the second selected entity. 
  21. One of the entities can be a point; however, an error
  22. message is displayed if you select two points.

  24. PRP TAN - to create a line perpendicular to the first
  25. selected entity, and tangent to the second selected
  26. entity. One of the entities can be a point; however, an
  27. error message is displayed if you select two points.

  29. PRP PRP - to create a line perpendicular to two selected
  30. entities. One entity can be a point; however, an error
  31. message is displayed if you select two points.

  33. In 2-D construction mode, selected construction entities
  34. and reference points must be coplanar. 
  35.  
  36. In 2-D construction mode, the reference entities are
  37. projected to the current construction plane, and the line 
  38. is created in the construction plane.

  40. In 3-D construction mode, you cannot select polylines,
  41. polygons, and 3-D splines because they are not planar
  42. entities.

  44. In 3-D construction mode, the line is created in the plane
  45. that is defined by the selected entities.

  47. The length of the new line is determined by the L-LIMIT
  48. (line limits) switch setting. Line limits are set by
  49. selecting the CONTROL, L-LIMIT option from the Main Menu.
