- Places an external object in the model, scaled along the X axis and at

- 1. (Y/N) wish to scale along X ?
- 2. (CHAR) file name to place (1-8 char.)
- 3. * (POINT) positioning point
- 4. * (POINT) direction point of X axis
- if file name does not exist:
- 5. (CHAR) file (name) does not exist, enter another name
- if file is empty:
- 5. (CHAR) file (name) is empty, enter another name
-
- Description:
- This command places an external object at a given positioning point in the
- model, allowing you to control its orientation, and scale along the original X
- axis.
- State whether you wish to scale along the X axis or not. Then enter the file
- name of the object to be placed (up to 8 characters). Pick the positioning
- point, which coincides with the origin point of the object.
-
- Pick the direction point on the same horizontal plane. If you replied
- positively to the prompt "wish to scale along X ?" the direction point
- determines both the orientation and the scaling factor, as follows: the X axis
- of the original object is oriented along the line connecting the positioning
- point to the direction point and the original X dimension (only) is stretched
- (or contracted) to the dimension between the two points.
- If the reply to the scaling prompt was negative, the direction point
- determines the orientation so that the Xaxis of the original object is
- oriented along the line connecting the positioning point to the direction
- point. The object is placed at its original scale.
- If the file is empty or if the file name does not exist in both your directory
- and ARCALIB, you will be notified. You may specify another file name, and all
- other parameters will remain unchanged.
- You are prompted to position additional instances of the same object until you
- enter a new command.
- NOTE:It is important that objects placed by this command should be created
- with an original X dimension of 1 (unit).
-
- Example: \xplac bath1 0 0 0 1.5 0 0 y
-
- Result: An instance of the external object namedbath1is placed in the current
- model from 0 0 0 to 1.5 0 0.
