- Description
- This command enables you to trim a wall at any point or between two points, at
- right angles to it or at any other angle. When a wall is trimmed, the wall's
- slope is kept.
-
- You may leave the trimmed end(s) of the wall "open" or "closed". The trimming
- point(s) do not have to be on the wall itself but should not be too remote.
- If you are trimming by right angle, the system will assume a trimming point(s)
- perpendicular to the wall through the specified point(s). If you are trimming
- at an angle other than 90, the trim is executed along a line linking the two
- different points.
-
-
- To trim a wall at a point at right angles to it:
- Enter `y' to trim by 1 line. Enter `y' for right angular. Indicate the wall
- to be trimmed. Confirm that the system has identified the wall that you
- intended. You are prompted to point to a trimming point. You are then
- prompted to point to the side to remain. The wall will be trimmed to an
- imaginary line from the trimming point normal to the wall. Depending on the
- location of the point and the side that remains, the wall may be shortened
- or lengthened.
-
- To trim a wall between two points at right angles to it:
- Enter `n' to trim by 2 lines. Enter `y' for right angular. Indicate the wall
- to be trimmed. Confirm that the system has identified the wall that you
- intended. You are prompted to give two trimming points. The wall will be
- trimmed shortened or lengthened to an imaginary line that links the two
- trimming points.
-
- To trim a wall at a point at an angle to it:
- Enter `y' to trim by 1 line. Enter `n' for a free trim. Indicate the wall to
- be trimmed. Confirm that the system has identified the wall that you intended.
- You are prompted to give two points for the trimming line. The wall will be
- trimmed shortened or lengthened to an imaginary line that links the two
-
- trimming points.
-
- To trim a wall between two points at an angle to it:
- Enter `n' to trim by 2 lines. Enter `n' for a free trim. Indicate the wall to
- be trimmed. Confirm that the system has identified the wall that you intended.
- You are prompted to give two points for the first trimming line and two points
- for the second trimming line. The wall will be trimmed between two points
- shortened or lengthened to an imaginary line that links the two trimming
- points.
-
- In all cases you are asked whether you wish to close the wall or not. If you
- reply `y', the wall end(s) will be "healed" by a line that connects the inner
- and outer faces of the wall along the trim line. If you reply `n' the wall
- end(s) will be left open.
