- Description:
-
- Option `a' add wall to library:
-
- This option enables you to define a multi-layer wall online, i.e., one that
- has not been predefined in the walls library. This wall will remain the
- default wall until the end of the work session or until a new wall is either
- defined using this command or selected using the \setmw command. You may
- define a name for the new wall type and save it in the wall library. The
- walls are saved in a file named WALLS.ARC in the ARCA directory.
-
- Specify the number of layers (including cavities and insulation) that will
- make up the wall. Then specify the layer width, layer line color, layer line
- type and layer line width for each of the individual layers. Finally specify
- the color, type and width of the last wall line which closes the last layer of
- the wall.
-
- Specify if you want to define an axis. If you reply `y', specify the layer
- number in which to place the axis or press ENTER to place it in the middle of
- the wall. Specify the offset into the layer for placing the axis or press
- ENTER to place it in the center of the layer. Specify the line type for the
- display of the axis or press ENTER to prevent the display the axis.
-
- For all the options, specify a name for the wall you defined. The system
- automatically allocates the first 3 letters of the file name: the letter "l",
- the number of layers you defined in prompt 2 and a `-'. Assuming you are
- planning to work with the newly defined wall, you are asked to define the
- height (you may leave it 0), and you may then begin creating a sequence of
- segments using the new wall. This is done using the \mwall command.
-
- Option `e' edit the walls library:
-
- This option opens a display file containing your walls library, where each
- wall type appears with its name in a square.
-
- Wide walls that would not fit into the square at the regular scale will appear
- shorter as they are displayed at a different scale to accomodate them within
- the square.
-
- In addition to the wall squares, there are six options:
-
-
- ALL ADD
- SAVE AXIS
- QUIT DELETE
-
- You are prompted to select a wall in a square or to pick an option. The color
- of the square frame symbolizes the wall status:
-
- green = active wall
- red = currently non active wall (will not appear when calling the wall
- library using the pull-down menus)
-
- The ALL option allows you to act in one of three ways:
-
- s select all the objects
- d deselect all the objects,
- r reverse the current status of selection.
-
- Use SAVE to update your library or QUIT to restore your original library.
-
- The SAVE option keeps the current status of the walls in the WALLS.ARC file as
- the current library for display, and then restores the file you were working
- on before you activated this command. You are asked to confirm before
- execution.
-
- The QUIT option saves the wall library ignoring the current changes and then
- opens the file you were working on before you activated this command. You are
- asked to confirm before execution.
-
- The ADD option allows you to define a new wall type. This is done in the same
- way as in option `a' except it is done from within the library. When you
- complete the definition, select the SAVE option. The new wall will be
- displayed the next time you call the graphic wall library.
-
- The AXIS option allows you to update a wall axis. Indicate and confirm the
- wall square for which to update the axis. Specify whether to add/update an
- axis, delete an axis, or press ENTER to quit. If you specify to add or update
- an axis, specify the layer number in which to place the axis, or press ENTER
- for the middle of the wall. Specify the offset into the layer for placing the
- axis or press ENTER to place it in the center of the layer. Specify the line
- type for the display of the axis or press ENTER to prevent the display the
- axis. If you specify to delete the axis, the axis will be deleted.
-
- The DELETE option asks you to indicate and confirm the wall square for
- deletion. The color of the frame surrounding the selected wall changes to
- yellow. You are then asked if you wish to delete more walls. The walls are
- not actually deleted until the SAVE option is selected and can be unmarked by
- clicking again on the square.
-
- NOTE: When a wall is deleted from the wall library, all combinations for that
- wall will be deleted from the combination library. In addition, the end
- condition library for that wall (if any), will be moved from \arcalib to
- \arcalib\del.
-
- Option `p' plot the walls library:
-
- This option enables you to create a plot file from your wall library, in order
- to produce a hard copy. Confirm the creation of the plot file from your walls
- library. If you confirm, specify a file name for the plot file, up to eight
- characters.
-
- NOTE: The system opens a temporary file to display the current wall library.
- When you execute this command, the file you were working on is saved and
- closed and the system file $W$LIB is opened. This file is always displayed in
- plan and parallel view. After a "legal" end of the command, the system
- restores your original working file and your last view. If, by any chance,
- you get "stuck" in the $W$LIB file and your original file is not restored,
- execute the \rslib command, and the system will automatically restore your
- original file.
-
- Option `u' update the axis:
-
- This option allows you to update a wall axis. Specify the wall for which to
- update the axis: the current wall, the wall name, indicate the wall, or press
- <ENTER> to select a wall from a graphic library.
-
- If you are specifying the wall by name, enter the name of the wall. If you
- are indicating, indicate and confirm the wall. If you have a graphic library,
- select a wall from it.
-
- Specify whether to add/update an axis, delete an axis, or press ENTER to quit.
-
- If you specify to add or update an axis, specify the layer number in which to
- place the axis, or press ENTER for the middle of the wall. Specify the offset
- into the layer for placing the axis or press ENTER to place it in the center
- of the layer. Specify the line type for the display of the axis or press
- ENTER to prevent the display the axis.
-
- If you specify to delete the axis, the axis will be deleted.
