- Description
- This command converts an external text file (ASCII format) and inserts it into
- a drawing. The ASCII file must have the extension .TXT.
-
- The system first converts the ASCII file to an external ARC+ drawing file (III
- & DDD) which may then, either be placed in the drawing immediately or placed
- later using this command.
-
- To place a file that has already been converted, press <ENTER>, specify its
- name and indicate its location.
-
- If you are converting a file, enter the name of the external file, i.e., the
- name for an ARC+ file (III & DDD) into which the ASCII file will be placed.
- The text file name is returned so you can press <ENTER> to use the same name.
- If the file exists you will be asked if you want to overwrite it (you cannot
- add to the contents of an existing file).
-
- Enter the distance between lines. This is a factor of the height of the text,
- e.g., if text height is 4mm and the factor is 0.5, the space between lines
- will be 2mm.
-
- Specify whether to place the text in the current file. If you reply `y', a
- rectangle will appear attached to the cursor. If you reply `n', you may place
- the text later using this command.
-
- In order to help you place a file you may change the "origin" of the frame.
- The "origin" is the point at which the text block is attached to the cursor,
- i.e. the relationship of the text block to the cursor. If you press <Alt>+2
- the position of the text block in relation to the cursor will change. There
- are six possible locations:
-
- 1 - lower-left corner of minimum enclosing rectangle
- 2 - justification point of text
- 3 - center point of minimum enclosing rectangle
- 4 - upper-left corner of minimum enclosing rectangle
- 5 - upper-right corner of minimum enclosing rectangle
- 6 - lower-right corner of minimum enclosing rectangle
-
- Once the text is located as desired, indicate the position at which to place
- the text. You may continue to place the text again in another position.
