- Estimates if a solid operation is possible according to disk free space.
-
- 1. (CHAR) disk name to check (a,b,c,d,e,f, etc.)
- if in geometric module (G):
- 2. (Y/N) possibility to execute: y-solid, n-solid & surfaces
- 3. (Y/N) solid display: y-wire/hidd./dash, n-no display
- if option `y' is selected in prompt 2, depending which display was selected in
- prompt 3, the resulting message will be either:
- solid is possible, the process will take app. NNNNNNN bytes
- or:
- solid is NOT possible, you need at least NNNNNNN bytes available
- if option `n' is selected in prompt 2, depending which display is selected in
- prompt 3, the resulting message will be either:
- solid & surf. is possible, the process will take app. NNNNNNN bytes
- or:
- solid & surf. is NOT possible, you need at least NNNNNNN bytes available
- if in solid module (S), there are no other prompts the system simply checks
- the possibility of a surface model and the resulting message will be either:
- surfaces is possible, the process will take app. NNNNNNN bytes
- or:
- surfaces is NOT possible, you need at least NNNNNNN bytes available
- If you press <ENTER> after a resulting message, the following message will be
- displayed:
- you will still have NNNNNNN bytes available on your disk
-
- Description:
- This command helps you to estimate the availability of disk space prior to
- producing a solid model, or a solid and surfaces model.
- Enter the letter of the disk on which you intend to produce your solid model.
- If you are in the geometric module, the system asks you if you are creating
- a solid model only, or solid and surfaces models. You may create and display
- the model in a number of modes: wire frame, hidden lines removal, or hidden
- lines displayed as dashed lines (option `y'), or create the model with no
- intention of displaying it (option `n'). Each case takes up a different amount
- of disk space. In both the case of a solid or solid and surface model, you
- must define the type of display you intend for your solid model.
- If you are in the solid module, the only estimation you may need is for
- producing a surfaces model and the system does not need any parameters.
-
- The system takes into consideration all the components of your model,
- including placed objects and all their hierarchies, when doing the estimation
- and adds a factor as a safety margin. It then informs you if the operation is
- possible or not, and how much disk space will be required for it. If the
- message is positive, you are informed of how much disk space will be left
- after the required operation.
