- PL1P Menu: PLACE
- ==============================================================================
- Places an external object in the model with a specified scale and position.
-
- 1. (CHAR) file name to place (1-8 char.)
- 2. (NUM) 3 scaling factors (x,y,z)
- 3.* (POINT) positioning point (press <ENTER> for NEW factors)
-
- Description:
- This command places an external object at a given positioning point in the
- model, with the same orientation as in the original object. Enter the file
- name of the object you want to place (up to 8 characters). Enter the scale
- (giving 3 factors by which the x, y, and z coordinates of the original are to
- be multiplied respectively). If you have made a mistake and want to set new
- scaling factors, press <ENTER>, otherwise pick the positioning point. The
- object is placed so that its origin (0 0 0) coincides with this positioning
- point.
- This object is treated as one entity, and it may only be modified in its
- original file.
- You are prompted to position additional objects, with the same scale or with
- a new scale (by pressing <ENTER>) in other locations, until you enter a new
- command.
- If the file is empty or the file name does not exist in both your directory
- and ARCALIB, you will be notified. You may specify another file name, and all
- other parameters will remain unchanged.
-
- Example: \pl1p box 1 2 3 10 10 0
-
- Result: The external object called "box" is placed in the model. The origin
- point of "box" is positioned at 1010 0 of the active model. The coordinates of
- "box" are multiplied as follows: x by 1, y by 2, z by 3.
