- Places objects in the model by dragging.
-
- Description
- This command places the current default library object into the model.
- The object is previously set as the default by selecting it from the
- pull-down graphic library or using the \setob command specifying it by
- library name.
-
- The following prompts appear on the screen:
-
- 1.* (POINT) place (Alt+1-sym, 2-orig, 3-ang, 4-ang=0, 5-big,
- 6-small, <Ent>-set)
- if <ENTER> is pressed:
- 2. (Y/N) y-size factor, n-angle factor, <ENTER>-new direction ?
- if reply is `y' in prompt 2:
- 3. (NUM) NEW size factor (current: curr. factor)
- if reply is `n' in prompt 2:
- 3. (NUM) NEW angle increment (current: curr. angle)
- if <ENTER> is pressed in prompt 2:
- 3. (POINT) first direction point
- 4. (POINT) second direction point
-
- Before you position the object, you have a series of manipulation options:
-
- Alt + 1
- Change the symmetry of the object about the cursor (toggle).
-
- Alt + 2
- Change the position of the origin.
- There are six possibilities the original "origin," each of the four corners
- of the enclosing rectangle and the center of the enclosing rectangle.
- Each time you press Alt+2, the entity is moved such that the cursor is
- located at one of the possible origin options.
-
- Alt + 3
- Change the angle of the object. Each subsequent time you press Alt+3
- the object will rotate a further angle increment about the current origin
- (cursor) position (the angle increment can be set by pressing <ENTER>).
-
- Alt + 4
- Change the angle of the object back to the orientation in the original file.
-
- Alt + 5
- Increase the size of the object by a factor. Each subsequent time you press
- Alt+5 the object will increase in size by the size factor (the factor can
- be set by pressing <ENTER>).
-
- NOTE: To restore the original size, press F7.
-
- Alt + 6
- Decrease the size of the object by a factor. Each subsequent time you press
- Alt+6 the object will decrease in size by the size factor (the factor can
- be set by pressing <ENTER>).
-
- NOTE: To restore the original size, press F7.
-
- To change the size factor, angle factor, or to specify a direction
- other than the direction of the object in its original file, press
- <ENTER>.
-
- If you enter `y', enter a new size factor.
- If you enter `n', enter a new angle factor.
-
- If you press <ENTER> to change the direction of the object,
- enter two points. The X-axis of the original object is oriented along
- the line connecting these two points.
-
- Ensure that the object is at the desired position and press B1 to place it.
