- Description
- This command enables you to edit or plot the library of opening/end
- condition combinations.
-
- Since each combination is associated to a specific wall and opening
- type, you must specify both, using one of the following options:
- the currently active wall or current default opening option `c'
- the name of the wall or opening option `n' indicate an existing wall or
- opening on screen option `i' select the wall or opening from the respective
- graphic library press <ENTER>
-
- If you select option `i' or `n', indicate and confirm the wall and
- opening, or specify the name, respectively.
-
- Option `e' edit (opening/end condition) combination library
-
- The screen is replaced by a temporary file called $C$LIB. Initially
- this file consists of eight options, a rectangle showing a sample
- of the specified wall, a white square containing the system end condition
- and additional white squares containing further end conditions that
- have been included in the end condition library using the \elib
- command.
-
- The eight options on the screen are as follows:
-
- DEFAULT PLACE
- DELETE ADJUST
- SAVE ENDCOND
- QUIT ACCEPT
-
- If opening/end condition combinations already exist, they will be
- displayed in a series of squares above those containing the individual
- end conditions. These squares may be either green, red or blue.
-
- Green squares will be active in the combination library and will be
- available for placing.
-
- Red squares will be inactive in the combination library and will not
- be available for placing.
-
- A blue square indicates the current active default combination.
-
- By moving the cursor over the red or green squares and pressing B1
- of the mouse, you may reverse the status of the openings from active
- to inactive and vice versa. The color of the square changes accordingly.
-
- PLACE
-
- When you select the place option, the specified opening, attached
- to the cursor, appears within the sample of wall. You may "slide"
- it along the wall by moving the cursor. You may change the orientation
- of the opening by pressing <Alt>+1 which switches the symmetry
- of the opening between its four possible orientations. You are prompted
- to position the opening in the wall by pressing B1 of the mouse. Once
- positioned, the opening "breaks" the wall.
-
- You may create several combinations for the same wall and opening
- type. For example, you may require the same combination with a different
- opening orientation or different end conditions. To create the next
- combination press B1 of the mouse while the cursor is on the PLACE
- option. The end condition displayed on the wall sample will be deleted
- and you may then repeat the combination process.
-
- ENDCOND
-
- If you wish to attach an end condition to the opening, move the cursor
- onto the ENDCOND option and press B1. Then move the cursor
-
- onto the required end condition and click B1 again. Indicate the wall
- on the side of the opening to which the specified end condition is
- to be attached. Repeat this process for the second side. The end conditions
- for both sides do not have to be identical. The system will place
- the end conditions on either side of the opening with the correct
- symmetry.
-
- ACCEPT
-
- If you are satisfied with the combination that you have assembled,
- press ACCEPT and confirm your acceptance. You may add a description
- of up to 40 characters. Spaces (created by pressing the space bar)
- are illegal in the description text. Use the underscore (_) in place
- of spaces. If you do not wish to give a description, press <ENTER>.
- The new combination will be added as a new square at the top of the
- drawing.
-
- ADJUST
-
- In certain cases you may find that the opening is not suited to the
- wall, i.e., incorrect wall thickness or its position within the wall
-
- thickness. In this case you may adjust the opening. Move the cursor
- over ADJUST and press B1. You may now move and adjust the location
- of lines and points within the opening by selecting one of two options
- that operate in a similar way to the commands \movef
- and \movep. The movement is limited to the opening only.
- You do not have to be concerned about picking other parts of the drawing.
-
- NOTE: You may use nested commands while working in this environment.
- You may find commands such as \zoom, \zout and \prvs especially useful at this
- stage.
-
- When the opening has been adjusted correctly press <ENTER>.
- You may then attach end conditions if you have not done so already.
- Accept the combination or select any of the other options. You may
- exit the adjust option by pressing B3 of the mouse and then <ENTER>.
-
- DEFAULT
-
- Move the cursor over DEFAULT and press B1 of the mouse. Indicate
- the combination that you want to be the current default. You are asked
- to confirm the selection. The color of the square enclosing the selected
-
- combination changes to blue, and the previous default changes to green.
-
- DELETE
-
- Move the cursor over DELETE and press B1 of the mouse. Indicate
- the combination that you wish to delete. You are asked to confirm
- the selection. The color of the square enclosing the selected combination
- changes to yellow and will be deleted when you save the library.
-
- NOTE: When a wall is deleted from the wall library
- or an opening is deleted from the general opening library, all combinations
- that use these entities will be deleted from the combination library
- and the library will be compressed.
-
- SAVE
-
- When you have finished editing the combination library, move the cursor
- over SAVE and press B1 of the mouse. Confirm saving the changes
- you have made to the library. You are then asked if you wish to edit
- further combinations for other openings. If you wish to do so you
- will be asked to specify another opening.
-
- QUIT
-
- If you regret the changes that you have made and wish to ignore them,
- move the cursor over QUIT and press B1 of the mouse. Confirm
- quitting the library without saving the changes you have made to the
- library. You are then asked if you wish to edit further combinations
- for other openings. If you do, you will be asked to specify another
- opening by any of the four means described above.
-
- NOTE: If you select QUIT all new combinations
- will be lost even if you used the ACCEPT option.
-
- Option `p' plot the combination library
-
- This option enables you to create a plot file for the opening types.
- Confirm creating the file and provide a name of up to eight characters.
- You are then prompted to create further plot files for other opening
- types.
-
- NOTE: The screen display during this command is an
- ordinary drawing file created by the system. It is named $C$LIB (.III
- and .DDD). You may use nested commands such as \zoom,\zout
- and \shift, etc. This is a temporary file and will be
- erased when you leave the system. You should always leave this command
- via the SAVE or QUIT options. If, by mistake, you use
- a non-nested command and find that you cannot exit the command, use
- the \rslib command.
