Enter Yes if you want to set the Netware Communication Services security. If this options is set to Yes, users must be valid Netware users with permission to use the session they requested -- that is, their names must appear on the list of authorized user associated with the session they have selected.
If this option is set to No, any user can use any session.
Audit Trail
Enter Yes if you want the server to save an audit trail of user actions; otherwise enter No. When this option is set to Yes, the audit trail information is saved in a database file on the server.
HLP_SECURITY_AUDIT_TRAIL
Set/Reset Security
Selecting this option displays a menu of security options
that you may set or reset.
Output Audit Trail
Use this option to either save the audit trail to a file or
to display it on the screen. You'll only be able to view the events since the audit trail was last archived.
Local Event Logging
Enter yes if you want the server to save network event alerts (such as a token ring "beaconing" message) in a log. The information is stored in a database file on the server.
Trace
Enter Yes if you want to enable the trace facility. To start a trace, select Service Options on the CSStatus Options menu. A trace is a record of SNA communication data that can be read to diagnose communication problems.
Set/Reset Log and Trace
Select this option to enable or disable the following facilities:
1) Logging of network event alerts
2) Trace.
Output Event Log
Displays the event log to the screen or saves the event log to a file.
Clear Event Log
Removes the event log database.
NetView Management
If NetView Management is Yes, the follow options can be enabled/disabled.
Generate Alerts: Enter Yes if you want NetView Alert support; otherwise enter No. When this option is set to Yes, the Communication Server sends alerts to the IBM NetView facility.
Process Commands: Enter Yes if you want to have NetView command support; otherwise enter No. When this option is set to Yes, the Communication Server accpets commands from the IBM NetView facility.
NetView Security: Enter Yes if you want to enable NetView command security; otherwise enter No. If this option is set to Yes, a valid Netware user must be specified with the OP= keyword in the NetView command.
Display Status for Service
Runs the status program for the selected service. This option will not
be displayed if there is no status program for the service.
Start Trace
Select this option to start a trace. This option will ask for a trace
file name, the maximum size for the trace file, and optional parameters.
The optional parameters allows you to trace a specific LU. Enter the
LU ID of the LU to be traced. If you do not use the optional parameters
field, all LUs are traced.
Stop Trace
Select this option to stop a specific trace. The traces are identified
by their trace file names.
Service Options
Select this option to display the status, or start/stop a trace for a
selected service.
NetView Management Options.
This options displays and permits the setting of various NetView Management menus.
Log and Trace Options
Select this option to go to the Log and Trace Options menu which
permits the enabling/disabling of the Local Event Logging and the trace
facility. Also this option is used to display or clear the Event Log
database.
