  6. describe how to install NetWare for SAA 1.3 Rev. A to a local 
  7. server.

  21. EDITING THE AUTOEXEC.NCF FILE
  22.  
  23. 1.  Start the server on which you are going to install NetWare for
  24.     SAA 1.3 Rev. A.
  25.  
  26. 2.  Enter this command: LOAD INSTALL <Enter>.
  27.  
  28. 3.  Select System Options from the Installation menu.
  29.  
  30. 4.  Select the Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF option; then add the following 
  31.     commands BEFORE the commands that load the LAN drivers.
  32.  
  33.     LOAD CLIB
  34.     LOAD BTRIEVE -U=1 -P=4096 -F=20 -H=60 -L=20 -C
  35.     SET MAXIMUM PACKET RECEIVE BUFFERS=2000
  36.  
  37. 5.  Press <Esc>; then save the changes in the file.

  40. LOADING THE BTRIEVE NLM
  41.  
  42.   Load the BTRIEVE NLM at the system console with the following 
  43. parameters:
  44.  
  45.     LOAD BTRIEVE -U=1 -P=4096 -F=20 -H=60 -L=20 -C
  46.  
  47.  
  48. DECIDING WHERE TO INSTALL NETWARE FOR SAA 1.3 REV. A
  49.  
  50.   You can install NetWare for SAA from diskettes, from a DOS 
  51. partition, or a from NetWare partition.
  52.  
  53.     NOTE: Installing from diskettes may take up to four times
  54.     longer to complete.

  57. INSTALLING NETWARE FOR SAA FROM DISKETTES
  58.  
  59. 1.  At the server console prompt ( : ), type LOAD INSTALL <Enter>.
  60.  
  61. 2.  Select Product Options and press <Enter>.
  62.  
  63. 3.  To install the Communication Executive, press <Insert>. Then 
  64.     insert NetWare for SAA COMMEXEC Disk 1 into Drive A: and press 
  65.     <Enter>.
  66.  
  67. 4.  Select "Install on this server."
  68.  
  69. 5.  Continue to insert diskettes as prompted until the 
  70.     Communication Executive is installed.
  71.  
  72. 6.  When the Communication Executive installation is completed,    
  73.     press <Esc> to return to the Currently Installed Products screen.
  74.  
  75. 7.  To install NetWare for SAA, press <Insert>. Then insert the 
  76.     NetWare for SAA Installation Disk 1 into Drive A: and press 
  77.     <Enter>. 
  78.  
  79. 8.  Select "Install on this server."     
  80.  
  81. 9.  Insert the NetWare for SAA License diskette as prompted and 
  82.     press <Enter>.
  83.  
  84. 10. Continue to insert diskettes as prompted until NetWare for    
  85.     SAA 1.3 Rev. A is installed.
  86.  
  87. 11. When the Communication Executive and NetWare for SAA 1.3 
  88.     Rev. A are installed, press <Esc> to return to the Currently 
  89.     Installed Products screen.
  90.  
  91. 12. Go to "FINISHING THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE" at the end of
  92.     this ReadMe file.

  95. INSTALLING NETWARE FOR SAA FROM A DOS PARTITION
  96.  
  97.     NOTE: To install NetWare for SAA 1.3 Rev. A from a DOS 
  98.     partition, you need a minimum of 10 MB of free DOS disk 
  99.     space as a temporary holding area for your source 
  100.     installation files.
  101.  
  102. 1.  If the server on which you intend to install NetWare for SAA 
  103.     is running, bring down the server (with the DOWN command), 
  104.     then type EXIT to return to DOS.
  105.  
  106. 2.  Create a subdirectory called CE13 in your DOS partition.
  107.  
  108. 3.  Insert the NetWare for SAA COMMEXEC Disk 1 into the floppy    
  109.     drive; then copy the files to the Communication Executive     
  110.     subdirectory. For example, for your C: drive, enter:
  111.  
  112.         XCOPY A:*.* C:[pathname]\CE13\*.* /s /v <Enter>
  113.  
  114.     Repeat the copy operation for each COMMEXEC installation 
  115.     diskette.
  116.  
  117. 4.  Create a subdirectory called NWSAA13.
  118.  
  119. 5.  Insert the NetWare for SAA Installation Disk 1 into the floppy    
  120.     drive; then copy the files to the NetWare for SAA subdirectory.    
  121.     For example, for your C: drive, enter:
  122.  
  123.         XCOPY A:*.* C:[pathname]\NWSAA13\*.* /s /v
  124.  
  125.     Repeat the copy operation for each NetWare for SAA installation     
  126.     diskette. 
  127.  
  128. 6.  To restart the server, enter the following command: 
  129.  
  130.         SERVER <Enter>
  131.  
  132. 7.  At the server console prompt ( : ), enter the following command:
  133.  
  134.         LOAD INSTALL <Enter>
  135.  
  136. 8.  Select Product Options and press <Enter>.
  137.  
  138. 9.  To install the Communication Executive, press <Insert>. Enter 
  139.     the full pathname to the Communication Executive subdirectory
  140.     on the DOS partition. For example:
  141.  
  142.         C:[pathname]\CE13 <Enter>
  143.  
  144. 10. Select "Install on this server."
  145.  
  146. 11. When the Communication Executive installation is completed,    
  147.     press <Esc> to return to the Currently Installed Products screen.
  148.  
  149. 12. To install NetWare for SAA, press <Insert>. Enter the full 
  150.     pathname to the NetWare for SAA subdirectory on the DOS 
  151.     partition. For example:

  153.                 C:[pathname]\NWSAA13 <Enter>
  154.  
  155. 13. Select "Install on this server."
  156.  
  157. 14. Insert the NetWare for SAA License diskette as prompted and     
  158.     press <Enter>.
  159.  
  160. 15. When the Communication Executive and NetWare for SAA 1.3 Rev. 
  161.     A are installed, press <Esc> to return to the Currently 
  162.     Installed Products screen.
  163.  
  164. 16. Go to "FINISHING THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE" at the end of
  165.     this ReadMe file.

  169. INSTALLING NETWARE FOR SAA FROM A NETWARE PARTITION
  170.  
  171. 1.  Log in from a workstation to the server on which you are going    
  172.     to install NetWare for SAA 1.3 Rev. A.
  173.  
  174. 2.  Create the following two subdirectories under the root in the 
  175.     SYS: volume:
  176.  
  177.         SYS:CE13
  178.         SYS:NWSAA13
  179.  
  180. 3.  Insert the NetWare for SAA COMMEXEC Disk 1 into the floppy    
  181.     drive; then copy the files to the Communication Executive     
  182.     subdirectory. For example:
  183.  
  184.         NCOPY A:*.* [drive]:SYS:CE13 /s <Enter>
  185.  
  186.     Repeat the copy operation for each COMMEXEC installation 
  187.     diskette.
  188.  
  189. 4.  Insert the NetWare for SAA Installation Disk 1 into the floppy    
  190.     drive; then copy the files to the NetWare for SAA subdirectory.     
  191.     For example:
  192.  
  193.         NCOPY A:*.* [drive]:SYS:NWSAA13 /s <Enter>
  194.  
  195.     Repeat the copy operation for each NetWare for SAA installation      
  196.     diskette.
  197.  
  198. 5.  At the server console prompt ( : ), enter the following command:

  200.         LOAD INSTALL <Enter>
  201.  
  202. 6.  Select Product Options and press <Enter>.
  203.  
  204. 7.  To install the Communication Executive, press <Insert>. Enter 
  205.     the full pathname to the Communication Executive subdirectory 
  206.     on your SYS: volume. For example:

  208.         SYS:CE13 <Enter>

  210. 8.  Select "Install on this server."

  212. 9.  When the Communication Executive installation is completed,    
  213.     press <Esc> to return to the Currently Installed Products screen.

  215. 10. To install NetWare for SAA, press <Insert>. Enter the full    
  216.     pathname to the NetWare for SAA subdirectory on your SYS:      
  217.     volume. For example:
  218.  
  219.         SYS:NWSAA13 <Enter>
  220.  
  221. 11. Select "Install on this server."
  222.  
  223. 12. Insert the NetWare for SAA License diskette as prompted and     
  224.     press <Enter>.
  225.  
  226. 13. When the Communication Executive and NetWare for SAA 1.3 
  227.     Rev. A are installed, press <Esc> to return to the Currently 
  228.     Installed Products screen.
  229.

  231. FINISHING THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
  232.  
  233. 1.  To return to the server console prompt ( : ), press <Esc>.
  234.  
  235. 2.  Run the DOWN command to down the server; then type EXIT to 
  236.     return to DOS.
  237.  
  238. 3.  At the DOS prompt, run the SERVER command.
  239.  
  240.  
  241.  
  242.     Verify that the server comes up without any error messages.    
  243. When the server is running, you are ready to configure the SAA 
  244. service profiles.
