  1. Thank you for your using FAScinator 2.20. FAScinator 2.20 is enhanced from
  2. FAScinator 2.0. It supports Tseng Lab 4032 and Tseng Lab 4065 VGA dispaly
  3. cards that can display 32K colors at a time. Using Tseng Lab 4032 or Tseng Lab
  4. 4065, you can get a high quality image on the screen with FAScinator 2.20. So,
  5. we encourage you to use Tseng Lab 4032 or Tseng Lab 4065 with FAScinator 2.2.

  7. NOTES ON FAScinator 2.20
  8. ========================

  10. 1. Release date: April 15, 1992
  11.  
  12. 2. FAScinator 2.20 supports Tseng Lab 4032 (32K colors) and Tseng Lab 4065
  13.    (65K colors) VGA display card.
  14.  
  15. 3. The drivers of FAScinator 2.20 and FAScinator 2.0 are not compatible.
  16.    You must use the new drivers of FAScinator 2.20 to run with FAScinator 2.20.

  18. 4. FAScinator 2.20 provides four extra new drivers listed as follows:

  20.    A. HICOLOR.DRV  - support Tseng Lab 4032 and Tseng Lab 4065 VGA display
  21.                      cards.

  23.    B. A1000.DRV    - support A1000 32K-colors handy scanner.
  24.  
  25.    C. A400NB.DRV   - support parallel port adapter for A400NB B/W scanner.
  26.  
  27.    D. NECPR801.DRV - support NEC PC-PR801 color printer.

  29. 5. New functions in FAScinator 2.20:
  30.  
  31.    A. Scan Merge function - has been implemented in Scan function for handy
  32.                             scanners.
  33.  
  34.    B. Pick Color function - you can change the palette to the color selected
  35.                             from the image itself. To do this, invoke Draw
  36.                             command in Tool menu, then move the mouse cursor
  37.                             to the desired color on the image and click right
  38.                             mouse button. The color you have chosen then
  39.                             appears on the square in the buttom-right corner
  40.                             of screen (palette must be turned on now).

  42.    C. Zoom in drawing     - you can edit the zoomed-in image pixel by pixel.
  43.       (Dots) function       To do this, invoke Zoom command in Edit menu to
  44.                             zoom in the image at least twice. Then, invoke
  45.                             Draw command in Tool Menu to draw pixel by pixel.
  46.                             The drawing color is that you have selected from
  47.                             the palette in the bottom screen.

  49. 6. The other changes in FAScinator 2.20:

  51.    A. After invoked the New, Cut, Convert, and Scan command, the title of the
  52.       new generated windows is named in the order of the generation.

  54.    B. You can view the color of text when you adjust the color in Textcolor
  55.       command of Text menu.

  58. RECOMMENDATION

  61. 1. You can utilize the memory over 1 MB through the EMM driver if the memory
  62.    of your PC exceeds 1 MB. Our software supports LIM 3.2 or higher. The
  63.    speed of FAScinator is increased if you have more memory and use EMM
  64.    driver. According to our test, QEMM386.SYS has the best performance
  65.    with our software.

  67. 2. We recommend that A1000 color handy scanner should be warmed up about
  68.    one minute after the LED being turned on when you use it at the first
  69.    time. Furthermore, because the amount of transfer data is vast, you
  70.    should slow down the scanning speed in order to get the best image.
