  9. Installation is performed through the automated installation program loaded
  10. by executing the GO program found on Disk 1 to install these files.

  14. Manual Installation Procedures
  15. ______________________________
  16.  
  17. The four .EXE files contain all the driver files.  
  18.  
  19. SHARED.EXE     contains file compatible with both 3.0 and 3.1 releases.
  20. WIN30DRV.EXE   contains Windows 3.0 specific files.  
  21. WIN31DRV.EXE   contains Windows 3.1 specific files.
  22. WININST.EXE    contains Windows Install files.

  25.      Windows 3.0:
  26.      ------------
  27.      1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV as the destination directory
  28.         for the drivers.  The Install application WILL NOT run properly
  29.         unless the Windows drivers are located in the <Path>\WIN30DRV
  30.         sub-directory.
  31.  
  32.      2. Create the new directory if it does not already exist. 
  33.         (Example:       MD C:\SS24X <Enter>)
  34.                         MD C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)
  35.  
  36.      3. Extract the WIN30DRV.EXE file to the new directory.
  37.         (Example:  A:WIN30DRV.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)

  39.      4. Extract the SHARED.EXE file to the new directory.
  40.         (Example:  A:SHARED.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)

  42.      5. Extract the WININST.EXE file to the parent directory.
  43.         (Example:  A:WININST.EXE C:\SS24X <Enter>)

  45.      6. Verify operation of your Windows 3.0 installation in standard VGA
  46.         mode (640x480x16) before continuing installation.

  48.      7. From the Windows Program Manager, choose:
  49.      
  50.         File
  51.         Run
  52.         C:\SS24X\INSTALL <Enter>
  53.        
  54.      8. This will start the SpeedStar 24X INSTALL application and allow
  55.         you to select the desired resolution and colors.
  56.  
  57.      9. If you the INSTALL program cannot find the desired driver, or if 
  58.         you choose to INSTALL NEW, the INSTALL program will prompt you to
  59.         enter the path where the Windows 3.0 drivers for your SpeedStar 24X
  60.         can be found. At this prompt type:

  62.         C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV
  63.  
  64.      10. The DIAMOND icon will be copied to a DIAMOND group in Windows.

  67.      Windows 3.1:
  68.      ------------
  69.      1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV as the destination directory
