- POINT MANIPULATIONS
- *******************
-
- Points may be ADDED, DELETED or MOVED.
-
- When points are moved or deleted, all the other graphics attributes
- (e.g. lines, dimensions) associated with those points altered will be
- altered.
-
- By default, points are added via the PUCK. The key-board or a file
- can be selected as the input device by specifying MODE KEY-B, or
- MODE FILE.
-
- By default, points are added or moved in a free-hand manner. By using
- the MODE SNAP command, these manipulations can be made to snap to the
- defined grid spacings. This effect can be cancelled by selecting MODE
- NOSNAP.
-
- If the "ADD" or "MOVE" option is selected with the LEFT BUTTON, then
- the tertiary graphics menu would be displayed, offering a number of
- alternate means of points specifications. These include:-
-
- Specifying points relative to another point;
- Specifying points relative to another point in Polar coordinates;
- Specifying points relative to a line (Cartesian or Polar);
- Specifying points to be lying on a line;
- Specifying a number of points to be spaced in prescribed ratios
- between two known points (applies to additions only);
- Specifying points at intersection of two lines;
- Specifying points at intersection of line with circle/arc.
- Specifying points at intersection of circles.
-
- After selecting the appropriate option, points would be ADDed or MOVEd
- in accordance with the selected option.
-
- A point inadvertently moved may be restored to its previous position
- by immediately pressing the LEFT button.
-
- If the DELETE option is selected with the LEFT BUTTON, then the user
- will be offered the option to delete all free-standing points.
-
- The ADJUSt option is similar to MOVE. The co-ordinates of the point
- would be displayed and the user would be prompted for the new
- co-ordinates, which can be relative to the old co-ordinates.
-
- The commands POINT SY-PT and POINT SS-PT allows the user to extract
- points from the vertices of SYMBOLS and SUPER SYMBOLS respectively.
-
- The command POINT RD-PT allows the user to extract points from
- reference drawings.
