  4. DBShare is an expanded version of the file-
  5. sharing example in the users guide. More 
  6. commands have been included, and more infor-
  7. mation is shown on the screen.
  8.  
  9. The program lets several users (or processes
  10. under OS/2) share a database file, containing
  11. text strings created by the users. Only one 
  12. user at the time can edit a string, but
  13. the string can be viewed by all the users
  14. simultaneously. Note however, that changes
  15. made to a string, will only be visible for
  16. other users, after the string has been
  17. saved and reloaded by them.

  19. The four windows shown are:
  20.  
  21. Edit:  
  22.   The window where strings are shown.
  23.  
  24. Texts: 
  25.   A list of the strings currently in the 
  26.   database. If a text is locked the name of 
  27.   the user editing the text is shown,
  28.   otherwise the name of the last user to
  29.   modify the text is shown.
  30.  
  31. Current Users: 
  32.   The names of the users sharing the file at
  33.   the moment.
  34.  
  35. The window in the bottom left corner is
  36. where commands are typed and messages shown.
  37.  
  38. Commands:
  39. H: This text. Exit help by pressing ESC.
  40. E: Edit existing string. Asks for name of text
  41.    to be edited. Exit with F10 (SAVE) or ESC.
  42. C: Create new text.
  43. V: View existing text. Exit viewing by pressing
  44.    ESC.
  45. D: Delete text.
  46. Q: Quit dbshare.
