  1. Here are a few things that you should know before you actually start:

  5. WINDOWS 3.1

  7. We recommend that you upgrade to Windows 3.1 as it is faster and
  8. more reliable.  However, under Windows 3.1 please note the following
  9. if you use a dot matrix printer.  
  10.  
  11. Microsoft has greatly improved the appearance of dot matrix printing,
  12. but in some cases speed may be sacrificed.  If this is a problem for
  13. you then we recommend one of the following:
  14. * In Maintain, Defaults, Global Options, check "Force draft mode".
  15.   This will help in some cases.
  16. * Use the Windows 3.1 IBM Graphics printer driver in the highest 
  17.   (default) resolution if your printer is compatible with that driver.

  20. Bank Reconciliation
  21. *******************************************************************
  22. Peachtree Accounting for Windows has a number of new features.  One of
  23. them is an optional bank reconciliation.  Please note that the bank 
  24. reconciliation system starts with the premise that all checks and deposits
  25. entered into the system are still outstanding.  Therefore it may be
  26. necessary to clear numerous transactions (double click them) the very
  27. first period that you reconcile your bank account.

  30. The rest of this file only applies if you are upgrading from 
  31. Peachtree Crystal Accounting

  34. 1. When you open an old company for the first time, Peachtree Accounting 
  35.    for Windows will automatically update it.  However, this automatic 
  36.    update may fail if you run out of disk space.  Please insure that
  37.    you have adequate disk space, AND that you have made a backup of
  38.    your data first.  For this purpose, "adequate" is about 2 times
  39.    the total size of all of your current data files in your largest 
  40.    company.

  42. 2. Font selection is now printer independent.  If you have selected 
  43.    explicit fonts for any reports, either in the Options, Fonts screen or
  44.    in the financial reports screen, you will need to reselect them.

  46. 3. We have added a number of reports.  As a result of this, you will need
  47.    to rebuild any Multiple report files that you may have saved.
