  72. This application uses a one to many link to the
  73. Table object for Items in a room.
  74. The table object reads and writes its data through
  75. a link to a Paradox table. The table is indexed on
  76. the Room name and the link uses a Restricted
  77. range Locate so that only items for the current
  78. room are displayed in the table object. 
  79. Showing good relational database design principles, 
  80. the sub-totals for each room, and the total for the
  81. home, are all calculated and held on the Object 
  82. Vision form only. 
  83. The Room Total is calculated using @LINKSUM. 
  84. The sub-total is then transferred to the appropiate 
  85. field using the @IF function. 
  86. The total value for the home is calculated by adding 
  87. up all the room totals. 
  88. The fields and buttons on the form are embedded in 
  89. the outline of a house with a veranda and two 
  90. chimneys. All the graphic objects were created using 
  91. Object Vision lines, boxes, and colors. 
  92. Home Inventory Valuation - Help
  93. This application totals the value of items in your home for 
  94. insurance purposes and calculates subtotals for each room. 
  95. 1. Enter the home owner's name and address information.
  96. 2. Click the Room field (below List of Items For:) and select 
  97.     a room type from the list.
  98. 3. Enter items for a room. As an item is entered, the subtotal  
  99.     for the current room and the total for the home are updated. 
  100. 4. Click a button to move up or down, or edit an item in the list. 
  101. 5. Click the Exit button to return to the applications menu.
