- DESCRIPTION
- The Log Writer or llllggggwwwwrrrr background process, described in the
- _O_R_A_C_L_E _D_a_t_a_b_a_s_e _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_o_r'_s _G_u_i_d_e, allows you to write
- redo log entries to disk. It is the only process to write
- to the log files, and it writes asynchronously. When noti-
- fied, the Log Writer writes any modified redo buffers to
- disk (whether committed or non-committed). It can be noti-
- fied whenever a commit is requested, when the ddddbbbbwwwwrrrr needs to
- clean the buffer blocks, or when the redo log buffer is
- full.
