  1.    HUGO III, JUNGLE OF DOOM!

  3. HUGO III is the third and final
  4. episode in the HUGO trilogy.
  5. Having successfully outwitted the
  6. evil occupants of HUGO'S HOUSE
  7. OF HORRORS in episode one, and
  8. having solved the murder mystery
  9. in HUGO II, WHODUNIT? we join
  10. our intrepid heros once more.
  11.  
  12. In HUGO III, JUNGLE OF DOOM! poor
  13. Penelope is in trouble again when
  14. she is bitten by a dreaded tree-
  15. spider.  Hugo must locate the
  16. "pool of life" behind a waterfall
  17. in order to obtain some of the
  18. life-giving water for the remedy.

  22. You may control HUGO's motion with
  23. the arrow keys or keypad.  You may
  24. also give him simple commands to
  25. pick up or look at something which
  26. catches your eye.  A very useful
  27. phrase would be "get in plane",
  28. on the first screen, for example.
  29. Others are "look", and "look at..."
  30. You may also try other commands if
  31. you think they would help, such as
  32. "talk to..." or "listen" etc.

  34. On your travels, be on the lookout
  35. for objects (sometimes hidden) that
  36. may prove useful in your travels.

  40. Some notes on the function keys:
  41. Press F2 to toggle the sound on/off
  42.  
  43. F4 & F5 allow you to save & restore
  44. the game.  This is very useful just
  45. before you are about to enter a new
  46. scene or do something dangerous!
  47. You can also type SAVE or RESTORE
  48. instead of using the function keys.

  50. F6 allows you to see what objects
  51. you are currently carrying.

  55. F8 is the "Turbo" button which lets
  56. you zip around at twice the speed.
  57. (A "T" appears on the top line.)
  58.  
  59. F9 is the "Boss Button" for people
  60. who like to sneak in a game during
  61. office hours!  It starts another
  62. DOS shell and you must hit EXIT to
  63. rejoin your game.
  64.  
  65. This button will allow you to keep
  66. a game going "in the background"
  67. while you do your normal work.
