Constructor requires an up-to-date version of "Winsock" (included in recent builds of Internet Explorer) to run. Your machine also needs to have a working connection to the Internet - you don't have to be on-line to use the program, but a connection method does need to be installed on your PC.
If you open Constructor '99 and get the message that "WSASetup" has not been completed, do the following.
1) Check that you have dial-up networking installed on your machine. To do this, select Settings from the Start menu. From the window which pops up, select Add/Remove Programs. In the resulting window, choose Windows Setup from the Tabs at the top of the page. Double-click "Communications" and make sure that the box next to "Dial-up Networking" is ticked.
You may need your Windows CD if the box is not ticked.
2) Make sure that your modem is installed.
2) If you do not already have Internet Explorer 4.01 or better installed, install Internet Explorer 5 from the Web browsers section of this CD. This will ensure you have the latest version of Winsock.
