  1. Readme File For ProtectX 2 Version 3.00.0001

  3. ProtectX Standard Edition is a hacker protection system. It will listen on either the default ports,
  4. or the ones you have set and if anyone attempts to connect to them an alarm will sound
  5. and their IP address will be logged.
  6. You can also lookup the ISP of hackers/malicious users.

  9. How to test this software
  10. -------------------------
  11. Make sure ProtectX is started then goto Start, Run and type this:
  12. telnet localhost 21

  14. ProtectX should alert you of the connection (assuming you have it setup to listen on that port)

  20. Fixed bug where you could load two copies of ProtectX up at once.

  45. If you are receiving a Runtime Error 13, or other Date Related Error do the following:

  47. Goto Start, Settings, Control Panel.
  48. Choose Regional Settings, Then Choose Date.
  49. Make sure that the 'Short date setting' is on either:
  50. dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy

  52. You could also try other settings if you still obtain problems.

  89. You may distribute ProtectX Shareware Version, completely unaltered, without
  90. further permission. Any distribution satisfying all the
  91. distribution requirements expressed below is hereby
  92. authorized.
