- ================= Dungeon Keeper 2 Map information =================
- ====================================================================
-
- General info:
- Map name: The Labyrinth
- Map version: 1.00
- For: Dungeon Keeper 2 (original pre-patch version)
- Type: Multiplayer (also works in skirmish, but not very well)
- Players: 2
- Size: 50x150
-
- Map info:
- General shape: The middle third of the map is a complicated labyrinth
- surrounded by lava, so anyone who wants to attack the
- enemy will have to first traverse the complicated (but not
- impossible) maze.

- Gold: 61 for each player
- Gems: 3 for each player
- Portals: 3 for each player
- Secrets: 2 (badly-)hidden level 10 Dark Mistresses
- 4 magical items hidden in the maze

-
- Contact info:
- Made by: Philip Taylor (philip@zaynar.demon.co.uk)
- Web site: http://www.zaynar.demon.co.uk/dk2maps/labyrinth.html
-
- Useful info:
- Installation: You must have extracted all the files to be reading this --
- now just copy all the files (.kld and .kwd) into your
- Dungeon Keeper 2 \DATA\EDITOR\MAPS directory. If it's
- working, the map should appear in the map list.
-
- Useless info:
- Made with: DK2Mapper 1.0
- Files included: TheLabyrinthMap.kld (if any files are missing, get
- TheLabyrinthThings.kld the latest official version
- TheLabyrinthTriggers.kld from the web-site mentioned
- TheLabyrinthPlayers.kld above)
- TheLabyrinthVariables.kld
- TheLabyrinth.kwd
- TheLabyrinth.txt
-
- More pointless info:
- How I made it: The labyrinth in the center was generated by a BASIC
- program I had lying around on my hard disk.
- The rest of the map was just made as you make any other
- map with the DK2Mapper program.
- The picture of the map (available on my site, address
- above) was created as a RAW image by a Perl program that
- I wrote, then converted to a 16-colour GIF in Paint Shop
- Pro.
-
- Things Portals don't have to be 3x3 in size (all the ones in this
- discovered: map are actually 5x5 -- there's no difference other than
- what they look like)
- The path-finding AI in DK2 is great - when testing the map
- I had the maze as normal empty land instead of rock,
- told an imp at the top of the maze to dig out some rock at
- the bottom, and it got through the maze first time -- I
- couldn't find the correct path at all :-)
-
- Revision * 1.00 (10/Aug/99) - First release (This version)
- history:
-
- Possible * More/less gold/portals/players/land/secrets etc (maybe I
- updates: should do a + shaped maze with players in each corner...)
- depending on what people ask for
- * A thumbnail image (it shouldn't be too hard to do, but I
- don't have time to make one right now)
- * Erm... anything else? Email me if you can think of
- something (philip@zaynar.demon.co.uk)
-
- Thanks to: * Bullfrog for making DK2
- * 'Mark' (what's his full name?) for making the DK2Mapper
- * And everyone who plays this map (that's you!)
-
-
- This map has not been tested at all in multiplayer mode (in fact, I've never
- played multiplayer DK2) and has only been tested a bit in skirmish mode. If
- it does anything bad to you or your property, I am not responsible.
- The map may be freely distributed, as long as no files are added,
- removed, or modified (you can mutilate the files for your own personal
- enjoyment, as long as no-one else receives them without my name mentioned at
- least five times in big, clear, flashing text throughout the Readme file, and
- even then I'd prefer it if you checked with me first...)
