  1.                               File Scavenger Installation Instructions 
  2.                                     for Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0

  4. Important Notice: 
  5.           If you have already deleted your files, DO NOT install this software on the computer where the 
  6. files were on. Such installation may overwrite the deleted files permanently. Instead, connect to our web 
  7. site http://www.quetek.com, and follow instructions to download and install the version that can execute 
  8. from a floppy disk.

  10. General Installation Instructions:
  11. 1. Extract the self-extracting setup files to a temporary directory. 
  12. 2. For Windows NT 4.0 and 3.51 installations, execute setup.exe and follow instructions in the setup wizard.
  13.    For floppy disk installation, copy all extracted files from the temporary directory to a floppy disk. 
  14. 3. Experiment with the product. If you would like to buy it, register online (http://www.quetek.com) to 
  15.    obtain a license code for File Scavenger. 
  16. 4. Before buying a license code, you can run File Scavenger in Evaluation Mode. In this mode files less than
  17.    4 kilobytes in size can be recovered. However, larger files will be truncated after 4 kilobytes, making 
  18.    the recovered files appear as if they were corrupt.

  20. Disclaimer:
  21. Files can only be restored under certain conditions, such as the disk areas allocated to the files have not
  22. been overwritten. When a file is restored, there is no guarantee that the content of the recovered file is 
  23. the same as the original. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to validate that the data are intact prior to using them.
