  5. Windows 95/98/ME screensaver password viewer.
  6. Does not work on Windows NT/2000/XP.

  8. SS-CracKer is a nice screensaver cracking utility which has three main functions:
  9.  
  10. * Decodes the screensaver password and shows it, if a password is set.
  11. * You can change the password directly from the program.
  12. * You can patch the password applet so all screensavers will accept ANY password!
  13.   (I believe this patch is the first of its kind.) Read the disclaimer!

  15. DISCLAIMER:
  16. The patch that comes with this software has been tested on several systems.
  17. I can however, NOT guarantee that it will work. Neither can I guarantee that
  18. it will not damage your system. This means that you use the patch at
  19. your own risk! I take no responsibility for any loss of data or damaged system files,
  20. that might have been caused by this program. The chance for such a incident is however
  21. one in a million or less.

  23. If you run the patch and no longer want your password to be worthless, simply run
  24. it again and press "Recover!" instead of "Patch!" this time.
  25. That will restore your password routine. If it gives you an error message, the file
  26. has already been patched or there has been some other 
  27.

  29. WHAT'S NEW in version 1.03?
  30. -    Fixed the check routine so that it doesn't complain about Windows ME.
  31.     When I wrote this program I didn't know that Windows ME has the same password
  32.     routine as Windows 9x. Stupid bug!
  33. -     Optimized some functions
  34. -    Fixed some memory leaks
