- README for NeXplorer 1.0 (Beta) for OpenStep 4.2 for Windows
- -------------------------------------------------------------
-
- DESCRIPTION
- -----------
-
- NeXplorer is a freely available OPENSTEP fileviewer for Windows NT. It has been written for
- those people who spend most of their day under Windows and have to painstakingly bear
- navigating the file system using the tools that Windows provides for them.
-
- It consists of the following components
-
- * FileViewer with a filebrowser and an iconpath
- * A resizable shelf for placing commonly accessed files, folders, or applications
- * A panel for sending Email
- * A preferences panel for setting various application preferences
- * An inspector panel for viewing information about specific files or folders
- * ToolBar
-
- See the FEATURES section below for more information on each of these components. Visit the
- NeXplorer web site (http://www.serv.net/~khans) for more information including more in-depth
- description of its features, known bugs, and screenshots.
-
- IMPORTANT NOTE
- --------------
-
- File operations have been disabled for this release. Dragging a document into a folder will
- not copy or move it. Similarly setting permissions in the inspector will not actually change
- the permissions in the file system.
