WebDictionary is a translation tool for OPENSTEP. It utilizes WWW-dictionaries and comes without own translation tables. WebDictionary installs itself as a service.
Requirements
- Access to the internet
- Installed OmniNetworking framework from 1998. OmniWeb 3 users already have it (http://www.omnigroup.com/Software/OmniWeb/3). Others propably have to get and install it first. (http://www.omnigroup.com/DeveloperResources/Frameworks/OmniNetworking.html, Note: OmniNetworking needs the OmniBase framework http://www.omnigroup.com/DeveloperResources/Frameworks/OmniBase.html)
Installation
Copy WebDictionary.app into a service capable path. On OPENSTEP/Mach this would be ~/Apps, /NextApps or /LocalApps.
On OPENSTEP/Windows you have to run the command-line tool make_services with the installed path as argument (e.g. make_services C:/Next/LocalApps/).
Upgraders should use the new defaults button in the host editor to get the new hosts.(When asked I suggest to choose 'replace' which will delete all old host settings.)
History
0.8 First public release.
0.9 Fixed bug which prevented usage without a proxy.
