  1.           Welcome to the NeXTanswers information retrieval system!

  3. This system allows you to request online technical documents, drivers, and
  4. other software, which are then sent to you automatically.  You can request 
  5. documents by Internet electronic mail, read them on the world-wide
  6. web, and transfer them by anonymous ftp.
  7.  
  8. NeXTanswers is an automated retrieval system.  Requests sent to it are 
  9. answered electronically, and are not read or handled by a human being.
  10. NeXTanswers does not answer your questions or forward your requests.

  13. USING NEXTANSWERS BY E-MAIL
  14.  
  15. To use NeXTanswers by Internet e-mail, send requests to nextanswers@enterprise.apple.com. Files are sent as NeXTmail attachments by default; you can request they be sent as ASCII text files instead.

  17. To request a file, include that file's ID number in the Subject line or the 
  18. body of the message.  You can request several files in a single message.
  19.  
  20. You can also include commands in the Subject line or the body of the message.
  21. These commands affect the way that files you request are sent:
  22.  
  23.   ASCII            causes the requested files to be sent as ASCII text
  24.   SPLIT            splits large files into 95KB chunks, using the MIME 
  25.                    Message/Partial specification
  26.   REPLY-TO address sets the e-mail address NeXTanswers uses
  27.  
  28. These commands return information about the NeXTanswers system:

  30.   HELP             returns this help file
  31.   INDEX            returns the list of all available files
  32.   INDEX BY DATE    returns the list of files, sorted newest to oldest
  33.   SEARCH keywords  lists all files that contain all the keywords you list
  34.                    (ignoring capitalization)

  36. For example, a message with the following Subject line requests
  37. three files:

  39.   Subject:  2101 2234 1109 
  40.  
  41. A message with this body requests the same three files be 
  42. sent as ASCII text files:

  46. This message requests two lists of files, one for each search:

  50.   SEARCH Dell SCSI
  51.   SEARCH NetInfo domain

  53. NeXTanswers will reply to the address in your From: line.  To use a different
  54. address either set your Reply-To: line, or use the NeXTanswers command
  55. REPLY-TO <your-address>

  62. To use NeXTanswers via the Internet World-Wide Web connect to the 
  63. Apple Enterprise web server at URL http://enterprise.apple.com/.

  66. USING NEXTANSWERS BY ANONYMOUS FTP

  68. To use NeXTanswers by Internet anonymous FTP, connect to ENTERPRISE.APPLE.COM
  69. and read the help file pub/NeXTanswers/README.  If you have problems using 
  70. this, please send mail to nextanswers-request@enterprise.apple.com.
