  4. Thank you for perchusing the Peanuts Archive Disks.
  5.  
  6. This is an update CD-ROM. It is usable without the main CD-ROM set.
  7. However some parts will match only if you own the main CD-ROM set and
  8. this update CD.
  9.  
  10. With this CD-ROM collection you get the biggest software archive available
  11. for computers running NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP or Rhapsody. 
  12. No other collection features this wide range of programs and such a
  13. completeness of available software.
  14.  
  15. Some things are only available on this CD-ROM like e.g. indexed Usenet
  16. news since 1989 and certain programs.
  17.  
  18. Please read the documents in the Legal and Contents directories for more
  19. details about these CD-ROMs.

  21. Notice that in most cases the software on this CD-ROM in is *not* in the
  22. public domain! Furthermore the disk set is copyrighted by the Peanuts
  23. archive administrators. Read COPYING_POLICY in the 'Legal' directory.

  25. Contents of this basic directory:

  27. Basic Apps: applications you may want to copy to your private 'Apps' directory
  28.             for a comfortable access to the CD-ROM set. (gnutar and gzip might
  29.             only be useful for people running NEXTSTEP 3.2 or earlier)
  30. Contents:   Documents describing the archive in detail as well as a complete
  31.             file listing.
  32. Legal:      Legal notices about this CD-ROM set.
  33. NoSD:       The NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP software database. Sorry, but there is no
  34.             application to access the database directly. For a more comfortable
  35.             access please use http://peanuts.leo.org/
  36. READMEs:    all available README files with an index. Note that there are
  37.             programs on the CD-ROM set for which no README file exist!

  40. Further bookshelfs are available throughout the CD-ROM set in certain directories (Usenet/news/Bookshelfs, NeXTanswers, ...)
  41.  
  42. On the Update-CD bookshelfs are only available in the CDROM folder.
  43. The NeXTanswers bookshelf contains references to the Files directory which
  44. is not on the Update-CD. Please use the same path in the CompressedFiles
  45. directory instead. As a sideeffect, you can't use the Librarian for reading
  46. NeXTanswer files.
