  3. This is a very simple PNG (Portable Network Graphics) viewer for 
  4. NeXTstep. You can open PNG files by double-clicking on them and you can
  5. save them as TIFF files. PNG-files with alpha channel or transparency
  6. chunck are displayed on a light-gray background and will be converted
  7. to TIFF files with alpha. The info-panel gives a demo of the Adam-7
  8. interlacing method adopted by the PNG standard.

  10. To install, uncompress by "gzip -d PingPong-#.##-NI.tar.gz", followed
  11. by "tar xvf PingPong-#.##-NI.tar" or use Opener.app. Then copy the 
  12. PingPong.app to either your ~/Apps or to /LocalApps. After logout and 
  13. login, you can view a PNG-file by double-clicking on it.

  15. This utility uses the libpng software written by Guy Eric Schalnat, the
  16. libz compression library from Jean-loup Gailly and Mark Adler and I
  17. stole a lot from the .pic viewer written by by Don Yacktman.

  19. This program is freeware: you may copy, distribute and use this
  20. application as long as no fee is charged beyond standard distribution
  21. fees. I always appreciate it of course to hear something from a happy
  22. user, so send me your comments.

  24. Because I run NeXTstep 3.2 (on a NeXTstation color), I could only 
  25. compile for M86K and I386. If you need a version for HP or SUN, send
  26. me a mail to get the sources.
