- This is version 2.6 of pgp (but _NOT_ the MIT-version). This is
- the version for use outside the USA. I have included part of a
- posting by Mike Johnson on alt.security.pgp, so that you can see
- if this really is the version you want. In this directory you will
- also find the version 2.6mit (for use in the USA).
-
- I have applied the following patches to the original distribution:
- -In pgp26ui/src I have removed all carriage returns from the *.c and *.h files
- in order to compile this beast on a NeXT (I've only changed these
- sources -- but there are still carriage returns all over the place; but
- it also works with the old set of configuration files, e.g. from pgp2.3a).
- -I've copied the makefile.unx to Makefile and optimized the linker
- call for the NeXT-supplied compiler (by adding "-object -s" to the
- LDFLAGS).
- So don't let the file dates bother you. You can check the files
- with md5sum (as supplied in contrib/md5sum) against the file
- pgp26ui.md5 -- don't forget to strip of pgp26ui.md5 of the carriage
- returns as well (e.g. by running "tr -d "\015" <pgp26ui.md5
- >newfile"). I didn't want to mess with this file since nobody would
- have believed me afterwards, would you? I only wonder how the
- checksum could ever have been correct with all those carriage returns...?
