eXTRAPRINT GS Corporation has developed a number of output device drivers, marketed under the family name of eXTRAPRINT, which enable users to produce laser and color output very quickly and easily. Users can access these products through the standard Print Panel, or as standalone applications. With the addition of IPT Partner, the Macintosh-to-NEXTSTEP networking solution from IPT, Inc., Macintosh users can also access eXTRAPRINT to obtain fast PostScript Level 2 output. All of the eXTRAPRINT products incorporate GS Corporation's new color management technology which performs on-the-fly color correction at output time.
Note: The purchase price of all eXTRAPRINT drivers also includes the cost of the bundled official Adobe PostScript license.
eXTRAPRINT CJ10 is GS Corporation's first eXTRAPRINT offering. eXTRAPRINT CJ10 is for use with the Canon CJ10 Color Copier, Canon's popular "all-in-one" desktop color peripheral which can be used as a color scanner, color photocopier, and color printer. eXTRAPRINT CJ10 allows users to print stunning color comps in-house, at a fraction of the cost of sending the files to an outside service bureau. eXTRAPRINT CJ10 is also available bundled with eXTRASCAN CJ10 and for under $1,500.
eXTRAPRINT HP includes drivers for the Hewlett-Packard LaserJet and the DeskJet series of printers (including color versions like the DJ550C and laser printers such as the HP Laser Jet ll/lll/lV). Prices vary according to the printer and include the Adobe license for printing from NEXTSTEP Intel PCs. Site licenses are available.
eXTRAPRINT StepWriter gives users the ability to print to a number of Canon engine laser printers (including the NX and BX engines) which produce output at up to 600 DPI on various paper sizes from manual to tabloid. eXTRAPRINT Step Writer is bundled with a very fast SCSI based laser printer marketed by the Printer Works.
Additionally, GS Corporation has developed drivers for a number of other devices including the Canon BubbleJet A1, Canon CLC 300/500, Seiko PhotoMaker and Shinko ColorStream, just to name a few. Many of these products will be released in early 1994. Further device drivers are currently under development and you should contact our office for information on these or custom device drivers for your in-house equipment.
Included with this demo is a special installer package for eXTRAPRINT that contains drivers for the following printers:

These demo drivers are licensable with a license key. There is no time bomb for any of these drivers. Instead, there is a diagonal line across the page. This means you can install and test the drivers before purchase! All drivers work on either Motorola or Intel.
Note: while it is possible to drive the HP printers via serial on a NeXT Computer this is not a very interesting option, since the data transfer rate of serial is very slow. Better to drive HP Printers on Intel machines via the Parallel port. When being used on Intel machines with Adaptec SCSI host adaptors, the Canon CJ10/CLC drivers require the latest version of the Adaptec driver (the same one that is included on NeXT's CDROM).
