  1. WELCOME TO PRODUCTIONPARTNER

  3. RCN is pleased to present version 1.7 of ProdctionPartner, a professional tool for
  4. harddisk-recording, playing, editing and archiving of high quality (CD) sounds. You can
  5. rearrange, cut, paste and edit sounds. Sounds can be collected in archives called playlists
  6. which are unities within ProductionPartner.

  8. In addition text, images and movies may be used in a .rtfd file which is attached to each
  9. sound for description or background info on sound, like in a CD database. The program may be
  10. used to master audio CDs.

  13. PRODUCTIONPARTNER
  14.  
  15. ProductionPartner is a NEXTSTEP application for recording, playing, editing and archiving of
  16. sounds. You can play, cut, paste and edit sounds. Sounds can be collected and rearranged in
  17. archives called playlists which are unities within ProductionPartner. 
  18.  
  19. Via documents (list of sounds) you can easily administrate sounds or search and find text
  20. marks. Therefore besides the sound data ProductionPartner stores additional informations (e.
  21. g. the author of the sound or any other comments) in .rtfd format. By the way sound files can
  22. be located on other machines within a network; the sounds will be linked or copied.

  24. Thus you can include graphics, videos or pictures in your audio archive just like in a
  25. multimedia archive. A comfortable sound editor permits displaying and cutting of sounds,
  26. subsequent level change and other effects.

  28. BroadcastPartner: We offer an extention for ProductionPartner called BroadcastPartner which
  29. offers you an automation of radio broadcast. Another extension to ProductionPartner to
  30. distribute music through networks for music production and publication firms is under
  31. development, special solutions are available. For further informations please contact RCN.

  34. Special features of ProductionPartner compared with other sound applications available for NEXTSTEP:
  35.  
  36.     * ProductionPartner is the only NEXTSTEP application which enables you to
  37.       record sounds in CD quality (44.1 kHz, stereo) on intel hardware
  38.     * ProductionPartner is a harddisc recording AND playing system,
  39.       your swapdisc won't grow if you use big sounds. Therefore
  40.       ProductionPartner doesn't need much more memory to play big sounds.
  41.     * ProductionPartner can play sounds longer than six minutes.
  42.       Because of a bug in NEXTSTEP normally you can't do this so almost all
  43.       other sound applications fail to play such sounds!
  44.     * ProductionPartner has a time bar to jump to any position in your
  45.       sound or sound list WITHOUT delay during playback even using
  46.       very large sounds! You can do this with a single mouse click.
  47.     * The editor of ProductionPartner supports a reduction factor smaller one
  48.       so you can zoom in as far as you want! Moreover, it's much faster than
  49.       most of the other sound editors, and it needs less memory.
  50.     * ProductionPartner offers you a frontend for making backups (tar format)
  51.       of your sound library on a streamer or other devices.

  53. Support for NeXT Computer and Intel based NEXTSTEP systems is now available. For SUN and HP
  54. workstations ProductionPartner is available, too, to but for both architectures the current
  55. version is a beta release.
