  12. This is version 0.80 of Chronographer.  It adds appointment reminders.
  13.  
  14. Features added:

  16. o The expire date has been extended to December 1.

  18. o Appointment reminders have been added.  You can set a reminder through
  19.   an appointment's inspector panel.  There are three types of reminders:
  20.   panel, email, and sound.
  21.  
  22. The new features are described in more detail in Chronographer's release
  23. notes.  Choose the Info-->Release Notes command to see them.  You can also
  24. easily read the documentation for the new features through the release
  25. notes by following the links after each item.

  58. The release is binary-only and includes software for NeXT, Intel, HP-PA,
  59. and SPARC hardware.  It will run on NEXTSTEP versions 3.2 and later.  It
  60. might also run on 3.0 and 3.1, but it has not been tested with those
  61. versions.  If you find that it does run on either of those versions,
  62. please let me know.

  64. This is the eleventh release of Chronographer.  It is a beta release.
  65. Version 1.00 will be commercial and will likely be released in December,
  66. but this beta release is free and is fully functional, except that it will
  67. stop running on December 1.  By that time, a newer beta version will be
  68. available.  The commercial version will cost US$40 per user.

  74. Chronographer is an application designed to help you to organize not only
  75. your time but also your priorities in life.
  76.  
  77. Instead of just keeping track of appointments, Chronographer also keeps
  78. track of the goals that these appointments further, so you can easily
  79. determine if what you are doing today is helping you to accomplish what
  80. you want to do this week, this month, this year, and this decade.  Instead
  81. of just asking yourself, "What needs to be done and when do I need to do
  82. it?", Chronographer encourages you to first ask, "What do I want to
  83. accomplish in life?" and then ask, "What do I need to do in order to
  84. achieve these goals?"  Chronographer focuses on the long term as well as
  85. the short term.

  87. Chronographer's time-management concepts are based, in part, on principles
  88. developed by Stephen R. Covey and presented in his books _First Things
  89. First_ and _The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People_.  Chronographer
  90. helps you to organize your life by establishing a hierarchy of roles and
  91. goals.  Out of these roles and goals appointments are scheduled.
  92. Chronographer allows you to set a time budget for each role or goal, and
  93. it provides you with instant summaries of how much time you've actually
  94. spent on each item.  It also provides a detailed report of how you've
  95. spent your time.

  101. o A browser to organize your activities by grouping them into roles and
  102.   goals.

  104. o Schedules for keeping track of appointments.  Each day has its own
  105.   schedule window.  Appointments are displayed in colored boxes.
  106.   Appointments can repeat every day, week, month, or year.
  107.   Schedule detail can be set to one line for every 60, 30, 15, or 5 minutes.

  109. o To-do lists for keeping track of appointments that don't have specific
  110.   times associated with them.  Each day has its own to-do list.

  112. o Appointment reminders using either a panel, email, or sound.

  114. o A time report that lists, in detail, how you spent your time.  This
  115.   could be a useful tool for consultants who need to keep track of how much
  116.   time they spend on each of their projects.  It could also be useful for
  117.   employees who have to report their time usage to their managers.

  119. o Easy drag-and-drop interface.  Once you type in an appointment's title,
  120.   you never have to type it in again.  Just drag the appointment to a
  121.   schedule or to-do list to schedule it.  Appointment durations can be
  122.   changed by dragging the edges of the appointment.  Appointments can be
  123.   moved easily by dragging them to another location on the schedule or to
  124.   another day's schedule or to a to-do list.
