  3. imageToTIFF service is a simple (i.e. hack) filter service to convert:

  5.     jpg
  6.     xbm
  7.     rle
  8.     face
  9.     ras2
  10.     icon
  11.     gif
  12.  
  13. All to tiff files. A filter service can be used via command-dragging a file.
  14. For example, once this is installed command-dragging foo.jpg onto the
  15. Preview.app icon will open the file in Preview. Another example of the filter
  16. service kicking in is that Mail.app that will render any of the above file
  17. types when received in NeXTMail.

  19. INSTALLATION

  21. Copy imageToTIFF.service into ~/Library/Services or /LocalLibrary/Services and
  22. log out and back in. Wait about a minute for your filters to be parsed and
  23. that's it.

  27. imageToTIFF is just a wrapper for djpeg and image two publicly available filters. The man page for each is in the .service bundle.
