- Ralph: a NeXThoax movie
- by Christopher Penrose 3:30am - 6:30am Thursday January 23, 1992
-
- This sequence was the result of Jersey insomnia -- that should be
- excuse enough for a graduate student. I used TopDraw to manipulate
- the character objects. I slept every night like I had been
- sledgehammered when I was back in Cali - I hope this restlessness
- isn't the result of the booming pharmaceutical industry in NJ.
-
- Ralph's political message is not intended to be satirical. It can be
- taken in earnest. Use your pencil in the next election.
-
- The movie is contained within Ralph.tiff; it is a collection of 114
- frames coerced into sequential cohabitation with the tiffutil program.
- My preferred Ralph dove-tail speed is approximately 20 frames per
- second. If you use Patrick Flynn and company's Movie-2.0 application
- to view this; try viewing one of their *.anim movies first. There
- seems to be a bug that prevents *.tiff movies from getting a control
- window if the *.tiff movie is loaded first. Movie-1.0 works fine. If
- you do use Movie-2.0, try using the bounce mode - I think that this
- makes for the best viewing of this movie. Cool program guys! We should
- talk about sound support.
-
- This movie is implicitly in the public domain - like all other
- information - books, music, software etc. You can send me ugly
- *.tiffs or *.snds via NeXTmail if you feel a need to compensate,
- thank, or hurt me in return. If you don't like them -- chances are I
- will.
-
- Sorry - but I don't have a colour machine in my home. This movie uses
- 2-bit grayscale. Maybe next time.
