NEXTVegas version 3.0 now available by anonymouse ftp!
Announcing the availability of the latest (and probably last) version of the extreamely popular freeware casino game NEXTVegas. NEXTVegas is a casino-simulation game with dynamically loading game modules including Blackjack and Craps. This version fixes a few bugs and adds color to the game.
NEXTVegas comes with six game modules (Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps, Klondike, Red Dog, and Video Poker). Hopefully, there will be more modules available in the future...
NEXTVegas requires NEXTSTEP version 3.0 or later. The binary distribution is compiled for both Motorola and Intel hardware and takes up about 4.76 MB of disk space. People who are interested in writting modules and who need access to the source code should write me.

Changes since version 2.1:
NEXTVegas & all the modules (except VideoPoker)
* Colorized!! Finally! However, since I don't have a color machine and had
to sneak on to a color NeXT machine, I'm not all together sure that I did an
okay job here. Things may have looked okay in color but strange in B&W,
or vice versa....
Video Poker
BUG FIX: Cashing out adds proper amount to player files (w/ respect to coin values.)
[thanks to Matthew N. Reichman for the report]
* Displays coins played even after game finishes.
* Displays "Coins Deposited" while player deposits coins.
* Payout grid on screen highlights the column representing the number of coins
played.
* Incomplete colorization here. Sorry. It looks fine in B&W but probably a little
screwy in color.
Klondike
* Changed game options so that you can have 1 pass while drawing 1 card at
a time, and 3 passes while drawing three cards at a time. [thanks Brian Keeley
for the suggestion]
* You can double click on a card or sets of cards and Klondike will automatically
move them to a better spot for you. (i.e., if
you have a black nine and a red ten open, double clicking on the black nine
will automatically move it over to the red ten.)
* You can't keep playing after you remove your winnings. End of game.
It is my goal to write more modules for the game, and I encourage others to do the same. Texas Hold 'em, Pai Gao anyone?
Please check out the game and let me know what you think. Any and all feedback is appreciated!
