  33. Wait, wait, what does one do with encdec?
  34.     Encdec is a nifty little utility written by Jürgen Hîgg in 1993.  His e-mail address is <jh@efd.lth.se>.  This is version 1.1.  Encdec encodes, and decodes, base64 and quoted_printable files.

  36.     Acorn Software has compiled, and distributed this utility with NutNews, however:
  37.     a. Acorn Software is not selling encdec.
  38.     b. Acorn Software did not write encdec.
  39.     c. Acorn Software does not copyright encdec.
  40.     d. Acorn Software does not support encdec.
  41.     e. Acorn Software will accept no claim of liablility from use of encdec.
  42.     f. Acorn Software neither encourages or discourages the use of encdec.
  43.     g. NutNews from Acorn SoftwareTM does not require encdec, and you may delete it at any time, without any effect whatsoever to NutNews from Acorn SoftwareTM.
  44.     h. Acorn Software is merely providing a ready-compiled version of encdec, and as Mr. Hîgg says, "Use encdec as you wish :-)".  One may wish to copy encdec to one's /usr/local/bin directory.

  46.     How to use encdec?
  47.     Typing encdec in a terminal window will give you a very terse usage manual.  But, once you understand that encdec uses the stdin and stdout files, it's easy to use.  For example:
  48.     "cat filename | encdec -eb > filename.base64"
  49. will produce a base64 encoded version of filename, in the file labelled as filename.base64.
